all of these designs are edited in photoshop from a photograph, and took a fair effort to get them looking neat.
i need a scanner.
i have higher resolution versions of all of these (and all of my other stuff). if you want to use anything, feel free to ask for a high res version of any individual design.
Great designs.
Little PS tip...
Mess around with the contrast to cut out some of the greys from the background of the tattoos (image>adjustments>brigthness/contrast).
The problem with that on the ones with a gradient is that you'd lose some of the grey on the edge.
Maybe try the magic wand colour selection tool to get rid of one type of grey?
i find adjusting the curves works better than just brightness/contrast, there is more control
and i do often use the magic wand tool to get rid of grey areas
but the problem comes when there's shading in the drawing. i solved it by using the magic wand to select everything other than the main drawing (it selected a bit of the shaded part though...) and then increasing the brightness of the grey area. i didn't think of doing that until you commented, so, thank you...

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

thje simple answer is that there aren't any shorcuts to getting what you want; you just have to get in there and do it manually.
